Li Spark ESS 2500: A Practical Guide to 2 kVA Lithium Backup

Power Beyond Backup

When the power goes out, the essentials you rely on at home or work still matter. The APHOSYS Li Spark ESS 2500 combines an inverter and an integrated lithium battery in a wall-mounted energy storage system. Here's a practical guide to its specifications and how to plan a suitable backup load.

Meet the Li Spark ESS 2500

The ESS 2500 is a 2 kVA inverter system with a listed 1400W load rating. Its integrated 25.6V 100Ah LiFePO₄ battery provides 2560Wh of nominal battery energy. This model is non-solar and provides pure sine-wave output for compatible loads.

What do kVA, watts and Wh mean?

The inverter's 2 kVA rating describes apparent-power capacity. For planning the connected load, use the listed 1400W load rating and account for individual appliance and starting requirements; 2 kVA should not be treated as 2000W of usable load.

2560Wh describes nominal energy stored in the battery: 25.6V × 100Ah = 2560Wh. The usable AC energy delivered to appliances is lower after battery operating limits and system losses.

Plan your essential loads

The ESS 2500 can support a selection of compatible lights, fans, routers, laptops or televisions when their combined demand fits the system's ratings. Actual appliance power varies, so check each label and have a qualified installer confirm the load and wiring.

For illustration, three 60W fans, six 9W LED lights, a 12W router, an 80W television and a 65W laptop would add up to 391W of running load. These are example ratings, not measurements of your appliances. Motors and some electronics can require additional starting power.

Avoid assuming high-demand appliances such as heaters, irons, kettles, pumps or air conditioners are suitable; their running and starting demand may exceed the available capacity.

How long will the battery last?

Runtime depends on the actual connected load, usable battery energy, inverter efficiency, battery condition and operating temperature. More connected load generally means shorter backup time.

For planning, estimated runtime in hours = usable energy delivered to the load in Wh ÷ average load in W. Do not use the full 2560Wh as guaranteed AC energy: allow for system losses and battery operating limits. Share your appliances and desired backup duration with APHOSYS for product guidance.

Features for everyday backup

  • Integrated LiFePO₄ battery: battery and inverter in one wall-mounted system.
  • Pure sine-wave output: for compatible essential appliances.
  • Battery management system: protection functions include overcharge, deep discharge, short circuit and temperature protection.
  • LCD and LED indicators: check system information and operating status.
  • No battery water top-up: the lithium battery does not need electrolyte replenishment.

Installation and warranty

Ask a qualified professional to confirm mounting, ventilation, wiring, earthing, protection and compatibility before installation. APHOSYS offers installation guidance on call.

The ESS 2500 has a 2-year inverter warranty and a 5-year battery warranty, subject to the applicable terms and exclusions. Keep your invoice and review the Warranty Policy.
