Power Beyond Backup
A power cut should not make planning your essentials complicated. The APHOSYS Li Spark ESS 1200 brings an inverter and an integrated lithium battery into one wall-mounted energy storage system for compatible home and workspace loads.
Here is a practical guide to its specifications, suitable uses and the checks to make before choosing your backup system.
What is the Li Spark ESS 1200?
The Li Spark ESS 1200 is a 1 kVA inverter system with a 12.8V 100Ah LiFePO₄ battery and 1280Wh nominal battery energy. Its listed load rating is 700W. The integrated design keeps the inverter and battery together in a wall-mounted cabinet.
This is the non-solar model. If solar charging is part of your installation plan, explore the solar ESS range and confirm compatibility with APHOSYS before selecting a model.

Understanding kVA, watts and watt-hours
These three figures describe different parts of a backup system:
- kVA expresses the inverter's apparent-power capacity. A 1 kVA rating should not be read as a promise of 1000W usable output; this model's listed load rating is 700W.
- Watts (W) describe the power your connected appliances draw while operating.
- Watt-hours (Wh) describe stored battery energy. Here, 12.8V × 100Ah = 1280Wh of nominal energy. Energy delivered to appliances will be lower after operating limits and system losses.
Which everyday loads can you plan for?
Suitable essential loads may include compatible lights, fans, a Wi-Fi router, a laptop or a television, provided their combined demand and starting requirements fit the system's ratings.
For an illustrative load plan, two 60W fans, four 9W LED lights and a 12W router add up to 168W of running load. Adding an 80W television brings that example to 248W. These are assumed appliance ratings for planning; check the labels on your own appliances.
Motor starting demand can be higher than running demand. Have a qualified installer check the complete load plan. High-demand appliances such as heaters, kettles, irons and air conditioners should not be assumed suitable for this model.
How much backup time will you get?
Backup time depends on the total connected load, usable battery energy, inverter efficiency, battery condition and operating temperature. A larger load uses the stored energy faster.
A useful planning relationship is: estimated runtime in hours = usable energy delivered to the load in Wh ÷ average load in W. Nominal battery energy is not the same as usable AC energy, so dividing 1280Wh by your load alone will overstate runtime unless system losses and battery operating limits are accounted for.

Features designed for practical use
- Integrated lithium battery: inverter and battery in one cabinet.
- Pure sine-wave output: for compatible essential loads.
- Battery management system: protection functions for conditions including overcharge, deep discharge, short circuit and temperature.
- LCD and LED indicators: view system information and operating status.
- No battery water top-up: the lithium battery does not require electrolyte replenishment.
No water top-up does not mean no installation or operating checks. Follow the product instructions and use a suitable, ventilated mounting location.
Installation, warranty and choosing your model
Arrange installation through a qualified professional who can confirm mounting, wiring, protection, earthing and appliance compatibility. APHOSYS offers installation guidance over a call.
The ESS 1200 carries a 2-year inverter warranty and a 5-year battery warranty, subject to the applicable coverage, exclusions and claim requirements. Keep your purchase invoice and refer to the Warranty Policy for guidance.
If your essential load or backup requirement is higher, compare other models in the ESS collection. Model selection should consider both inverter output and battery energy.
